CONTACT OVER THE BERMUDA TRIANGLE (Chapter 2 Scene Excerpt)
Meanwhile, the man aboard the spaceship lurking behind the domed clouds was intently watching his view screen, and then he touched the transceiver crystal to reveal himself.
“You’re mine now, Captain Kalem,” ?he spitefully stated from a long standing feud.
Aboard his ship, Kalem began to recognize the man’s voice as he defiantly looked down to see the flashing transceiver crystal on the console. He touched it, and his opponent appeared on the screen.
“Sen Dar!” blurted out Kalem. “So, the demented self-appointed ruler over all is still around, abusing life.”
“Yes, it’s just pitiful how you keep failing to stop me,” calmly replied Sen Dar and a devious grin widened on his face.
He reached out of view below the image on Kalem’s view screen, and the screen went blank. Kalem quickly touched another crystal control, and the view screen revealed an exterior view of the sky outside his ship. A red Mazon energy fireball had already been shot from the front edge of Sen Dar’s ship, headed to cause certain destruction of the 747, and Kalem grabbed a blue faceted octagon crystal on the console, lighting it up.
Sen Dar’s ship broke through the dome-shaped clouds headed toward Kalem’s Scout ship, just as a blue Mazon energy fireball was shot from the hull of his Scout ship. The fiery projectile sped through the air and intercepted the red fireball just two dozen feet from the jet, creating a brilliant explosion of rapidly dissipating blue and red light particles. However, Sen Dar had already fired another red Mazon fireball that sped through the dissipating energy toward Kalem’s ship, moments away from certain impact.
Kalem saw the second fireball on his view screen too late, and he slammed his fists on the console with angry frustration. Then he braced himself for the impact.
“Damn it,” he grimaced under his breath, and he instinctively raised a forearm to cover his face.
The fireball was only a few feet from the ship’s hull when another blue fireball flashed down from the sky and intercepted it. The two Mazon weapons exploded together in a blinding flash of searing, disintegrating red and blue molecules.
Kalem’s ship was violently shaken from side to side before it righted itself, and he was thrown to the floor. He quickly rolled over, grabbed the console to steady himself, and stood back up.
Two Galactic Interceptors identical to Kalem’s ship appeared high in the sky speeding down toward the battle. They made high-speed, sharply curved ninety-degree turns as they passed out in front of his hovering ship, before darting into the distant sky in pursuit of Sen Dar. They fired several more blue fireballs at his retreating ship just before it disappeared over the horizon.
